missions

This ministry is based on the Lord Jesus Christ's command to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). We start at home - with loving witness in word and deed to those around us who don't yet believe in Christ. We support that ministry to the ends of the earth.
Both the love of Jesus and the saving Good News of Christ are not meant to be kept to ourselves! We at Cherry Creek Presbyterian believe that Jesus is for all people and people groups of the world. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus says in His Great Commission to "go and make disciples of all nations." To that end, CCPC supports 38 foreign missionaries and 36 domestic ministries. This support represents about one-sixth of the church's total budget.
Domestic Ministries
Domestic Ministries include a host of Christian efforts that reach out practically to people in need in inner city Denver. Many from our church volunteer to help in these ministries. Outreach to High School students through Young Life and Youth for Christ, and to college students through Inter-Varsity and Campus Crusade for Christ are also priorities.
Foreign Missionary Support
Foreign Missionary Support emphasizes bringing the Good News to ethnic groups that are especially unreached. In particular we are reaching out to Muslim groups in the "10-40 Window." CCPC has adopted the "YOU" people group of Central Asia for special emphasis. We also support missionaries and missionary causes in many other areas.
Short-Term Mission Teams
Short-Term Mission Teams are sent from CCPC each year to Juarez, Mexico, Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and other locations. Participants gain an eye-opening view of the needs and realities of other nations and cultures.
The Missions Committee
The Missions Committee serves the church by managing requests for budget support, keeping in touch with missionaries and the ministries we support, and educating the church about missions in general and the folks we support. More member and volunteer helpers are always welcome!
