From poor Korean farm boy to world-renowned evangelist and broadcaster, Dr. Billy Kim has preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ all over the world to thousands of people in all walks of life. In 1951, he was befriended by an American soldier during the Korean War who brought him to the United States for an education. In 1959, Dr. Kim returned to Korea with his Michigan bride, Trudy, continuing a ministerial career that has spanned more than 50 years. Dr. Kim has been instrumental in the explosive growth of Suwon Central Baptist Church, launching Youth for Christ in Korea, and Central Christian Academy where hundreds of children and their parents have come to know Christ.
One of the highlights of his career occurred when he translated for Dr. Billy Graham during his 1973 Crusade where thousands of people gave their lives to Christ, greatly contributing to church growth in Korea. That same year, Dr. Kim was installed as director of Far East Broadcasting Co. (FEBC) - Korea, where he currently serves as president. In 2000, Kim became the first Asian elected as president of the Baptist World Alliance.
The world-renowned Korean Children's Choir, a ministry of the FEBC, will perform.
