The Bible in 365 Days
Thursday, 24 September 2009 17:13
CCPC is embarking on its second year of reading through the Bible!
This year instead of reading it through in 90 Days, we’ll be encouraging you to develop a habit of reading the Bible each and every day for the whole year. Daily readings are from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs and will bring variety and a fresh approach to each day’s 15-minute readings.
Several options and resources will be available to encourage this new habit. All those wishing to participate are encouraged to sign-up today in the Great Hall.
Watch for more information and resources that will be available in the weeks ahead.
Step 1: Sign-up in the Great Hall in December so we know how many will participate. Or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it including your name and phone number.
Step 2: Decide if you want to purchase the NIV One Year Bible and/or Companion Guide ($12) or if you want to use your own Bible. A children’s version of the same Bible and format will also be available. If you'd like to use your own Bible, please print this 365 days reading schedule (6 pages) to follow along.
Step 3: We encourage you to attend a Sunday morning or Wednesday night spiritual formation class here at CCPC that will focus on the previous week's readings. Starting January 3rd, we will be offering a Sunday morning class from 9:50-10:50 a.m. in the Great hall, and a Wednesday evening class from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the CLC.
Step 4: You can also access an online One Year Bible Blog website and sign-up for free daily e-mails that will provide you with historical background information for each day's readings. Also, through this blog website you can actually listen to the daily Scripture readings for free on your computer or an iPod.
Lastly, we invite you to consider doing the Bible in 365 Days together in community either as a family or small group next year. Tyndale Publishers has a children's version of the One Year Bible for families. And for small groups, there is a One Year Bible Companion to help guide group discussions.
For more help in your reading, you can consult the Bible in 365 Days Q & A page or purchase the One Year Bible Companion found on most online book sellers.
